A Child's Circle Casting

I found myself sharing this on a Pagan parenting group on Facebook tonight in response to a mother who asked what she could do to help she and her family feel safe in the wake of the most recent mass shootings. These events are growing more and more common, and the mother in this group is wise to be asking what she can teach her children to create a space for healing, well-being and safety. I offer this Child's Circle Casting which I wrote several years ago. May it help bring comfort and teach little ones how to create their own place of power in this world.

"I take a deep breath

and let it out. And let the cares of the day

dissolve into the ground.

I draw energy up

from the ground. And pull it in

from all around.

Then from my center light flows out. And it casts

a circle 'round. Above my head

it forms a dome.

Below my feet

it forms a bowl.

Energy guards

my little sphere.

And it keeps

me safe in here.

Guarding, protecting energy...

...and the worlds I'm safe between."
